University of New Brunswick

The University of New Brunswick Fredericton campus (UNBF) is located along the Wolastoq, an Indigenous Wolastoqey word meaning (“beautiful and bountiful river“). Established in 1785, it is the oldest English-language university in Canada; as the original teachings of the land were that of the Wolastoqiyik (“people of the beautiful and bountiful river“). UNBF is moments away from scenic walking and biking trails that stretch throughout much of the historic city. Many amenities are accessed through these trails, including a plethora of craft breweries, cafes, and restaurants. Fredericton holds the title of Atlantic Canada’s Craft Brewing Capital and has a unique tasting system allowing you to sip your way through the city. Other activities include rental scooters for touring around the city, boat rentals to cruise down the Wolastoq, and weekly markets such as the Garrison Night Market (Thursdays) and the Boyce Farmers Market (Saturday).
